Catalogue note

Right-hand drive, finished in Dubonnet Rosso over Fawn Connolly hide. Vantage specification with triple SU carburettors, 9:1 compression and the faired-in headlamps of the final DB4 series — in effect a DB5 in everything but name.

Subject to a bare-metal restoration completed in 2018 by a marque specialist in Warwickshire, with the engine rebuilt to standard Vantage specification and the original numbers-matching block retained and refitted. Invoices totalling in excess of £310,000 accompany the car, along with the Aston Martin Heritage Trust certificate confirming original colour scheme and delivery date.

Approximately 1,400 miles covered since completion, largely shakedown and two continental tours. Presented with a fitted tool roll, jack, and the original buff logbook naming the first owner.

Provenance

Supplied new by Brooklands of Bond Street, February 1963; four owners from new, the present since 2016.

Condition

Restoration required

Condition reports are the house’s opinion, offered in good faith. Lots are sold as viewed; the absence of a remark does not imply the absence of a fault.
